Just requested my MAC code!

I currently have Sky TV, Sky line rental and calls and Sky TV and pay £41.50 a month.

We only ever watch Sky1 other than the terrestrial channels but I need unlimited interent as I use my PS3 online alot. If I move my broadband I take it I will have to move my line rental aswell.

I've seen Tiscali's Broadband, Phone and TV for £19.99.

Anyone got any comments about Tiscali, or suggestions to other providers I could look into?
Cashback earned
Quidco : £858 :)
Pigsback : £20 and a Beatles CD.

You don't have to look very far to find out how bad Tiscali is.

    Beware Tiscali!

  • Hi,
We signed up with Tiscali for broadband only in January '08. The offer was £6.49 per month for first 6 months. We had nothing but trouble for the first 3 months, no service, slow service, no service, slow service etc. Then they put our price up, claiming that we had called them and asked them to upgrade our package. But they didn't upgrade the package!!
Eventually they sorted it all out, but by then we were on the full price service anyway. They did however give us £45 credit for the cost of calling their customer services and offered us their unlimited package at 50% off for 4 months to cover our costs and breaks in service. It took a lot of arguing with their customer services dept to get it though, but I wrote to them and explained that each time I had to call them I would charge them £5 for the call. Strangely, since we've been paying full price the service has been much better. They do seem to be the cheapest provider in our area at £14.67 (2mb, unlimited downloads)
I'd say just watch them though!

Thanks for your replies, could I leave my line rental with Sky and still move my broadband to say O2? Or do I have to have my line rental with BT to use O2 broadband?

Just beware, Tiscali (=Pipex and other trading names) have been up for sale for nearly a year, no one seems to want to pay what Tiscali are asking !.

They are losing customers quickly, Sky was in talks about buying but pulled out due to price Tiscali wanted, but if Tiscali gets to the point of really needing to sell at a lower price, then Sky may be back in line.

You seem to be paying lot for Sky considering you are only interested in Sky One.
As far as I can see you could have:
Sky TV, Entertainment mix at £16.50
    Sky Talk Free
    Sky Broadband Max (unlimited) £10.00
Sky Telephone Line rental £ 12 ish

Which would come to a grand total of £38.50

Thats how Sky pull you in, £16.50 a month just to watch Sky 1 would seem a real rip off so you add a few more packs at £1 each and £21.50 a month for Sky 1 and all those additional channels seems a bargain.
