mini ISA question

I currently invest each month into a cash isa. I have also just invested a small sum into a stocks and shares isa.
OK, lets say i continue to invest my monthly amount in my cash ISA from April 06 onwards, am i right in saying that i will then have my £4000 allowance for the stocks and shares element of the mini-isa for the year 2006 - 2007?
Also, of this £4000 stocks and shares allowance , if i invest say £1000 in one fund, is that it, or can i invest say a further £3k in a different stocks and shares isa to take me up to my £4k limit for the year?
Basically is it one investment of up to £4k in any one year (stocks and shares)or could you say do 2 x £2k investments or say 4 x £1k investments?
thanks in advance
mike

If you hold a *self-select* ISA with a broker or fund supermarket you can have any combination of funds you like.0
