Have you checked that you halifax secure password hasn't changed? Someone might have persuaded the system they were you and done a password reset. If the password has changed, it makes your case a lot stronger. (Even if it hasn't, I think you have a case.)0

I dont know if password has been changed or not , as have a new card now and i dont plan on using it online ever again.
I cant see either how my password was found out , i know for sure i aint give it to anyone.
Im writing an appeal to get more information and hopefully get it looked into more.
If i cant get it back ill just have to forget it , teach me not to use debit cards on the internet again.....either way i cant see how someone as used my details as i dont have a clue to how it works.
Im quite annoyed though , i mean cant they ask the company in question for the details entered , what was it for , they have not told me anything apart from more or less saying i must of wrote mypassword down some place :mad:0 -
They can't ask the company anything about it (other than what was bought), because when the dialogue pops up it's a direct communication between you and your bank - the company doesn't have access to anything that you enter into the pop up.
Best bet is to get this raised as an official complaint, because the people on the standard call centre aren't going to be able to look into this deeply enough.0 -
Have you contacted the company about it?

Its not Halifax's fault, it would be the same for any card using the visa/mastercard secure service.
What I hate most is the way you're asked to sign up - how easy would it be for a dodgy website to duplicate that sign-up page, and get your DOB and security code...0 -
are you 100% sure it's not your transaction? Sometimes payments come through with the name of a parent company or a legal name not the trading name you would normally expect. Have you tried contacting the company that has been paid and asking about it? There may be information on the order or whatever that would help identify who is using your card details if it's not you.Indecision is the key to flexibility
