The Range: selling MFI bankrupt stock

Just been into the Kidderminster branch of The Range, as I'm looking for some bookcases that MFI kindly stiffed me on!. Got my money back from AMEX, who were excellent, but I'm still short of my furniture. (unfortunatly, the ones from MFI were the only ones that were the correct size & finish.
The guys at Kidderminster said that they are having two artic loads per week for the next 3 months, but they don't know what they are having until it arrives and they have sorted through it.
If anyone see's any Faraday Bookcases at any of the other Range stores, or the MFI clearances in London (codes FDY2150, FDY2770 etc) could they post a reply please.0 -
There is someone on ebay selling MFI kitchen doors and knobs white gloss Hygena Hampstead ones0

I'd be really hacked off if I'd lost money to MFI only to see goods being sold.
I heard somewhere about display items being sold off for peanuts, why not offer them to the poor customers who lost their money .0 -
Have just phone my local range store in Plymouth to get some missing parts and they gave me this web link http://www.mfistock.co.uk/index.html seems to be promising
Just ordered from them, a larder unit to complete my kitchen, quoted up to 14 days delivery, arrived after 4 days. Hubby was really impressed they were extremely helpful when we rang up to order.0 -

Yup, just been to the range in kidderminster and they said a similar thing... although if you were after specific items they said you could phone up on the wednesday and they'd know what was arriving... just a thoughtHating Hastings Direct!0 -

Because the Administrator's (or Liquidator depending on where things have reached) are under a legal duty to obtain the best deal they can for either the company and/or stock. Moan at your MP to get the insolvency laws changed if you think they are unfair on the consumer.
This is really a good example where if the purchase is between £100 and £30,000 you should make part (doesn't matter how small) of the transaction on a credit card. The Consumer Credit Act then makes the Credit Card company jointly responsible with the supplier and you will get your money back via them if there is insufficient left in the company and its assets to satisfy all the creditors.
BTW I agree with your sentiments and I too would be hacked off.0 -
