PAYG Easymobile ain't bad
hi,
There doesn't seem to be any mention of Easymobile.com on this site!
I recently changed from T-Mobile PAYG to Easymobile PAYG, keeping the same number... the switch-over was seamless, to my surprise.
Most people here seem non-PAYG, but for anyone PAYG who travels a bit outside the UK, bear this in mind about Easymobile: national 15p/min. all the time, mobile and landline, texts 5p each. roaming (W Europe at least): 20p/min to receive, 75p/min to make calls... relative to T-Mobile the only thing which is not as good, I think, is that voicemail retrieval is now 15p/min instead of free... but it all seems to be per-second billing...
any comments?

don't you get charged to top up though?0

but for anyone travelling around roaming, free incoming calls and outgoing ones at 15p per minute might be more attractive0

Yes, it can cost you to top up and it will cost you if your usage falls below a certain figure. In adition, if you come to close the account and clear your balance you might also be charged extra for the privilege.
Check the threads above for further details. For my money, a Tesco SIM is more straight forward. If you want full roaming, get a Virgin SIM and pay by direct debit. This gives you normal contract roaming rates and you won't run out of credit whilst abroad if you need to make a few extra calls in an emergency.
Just my 2p worth.

At easyMobile.com we charge 25p for manual Top-Ups via the website. However there is no need for a customer to incur the 25p Top-Up fee; we have an automatic Top-Up service which is free; once the balance reaches £2 we take the requested amount from the customer's credit/debit card.
As the auto Top-Up facility combines with our Roaming service there is no possibility of being out of credit whilst abroad.
There are no charges incurred on leaving our service. The join up Bonus is non-refundable hence the need for a Bonus Withdrawal to be applied when a Customer leaves us.0 -

Again horses for courses, Orange told me I'd loose my tenner on the date of port if I didn't use it up, shame they didn't offer the facility to withdraw your balance.
Still think this is a great tariff compared to the main networks. :money:
As for the top up, 25p or a trudge to the local shop to top-up? Saying that I use my credit card to auto top-up anyway so I never get charged. :T :T0 -
What worries me with easymobile is that you can go 'overdrawn'. Is there anything to stop someone running up a huge negative balance if my phone is lost or stolen? I could see someone ending up with a large bill if this happened.
Yes I know this is the same with all contract phones, but this is a PAYG plan and I wouldn't expect it to carry the same level of risk. Anyone know whether this is the case or not?0 -
Just contacted esymobile and they have sturnly said that you don't have to pay the promotional bonus back but a £5 fee will be charged on closure of an account so therefore make aure you have at least £7 left out of the orifinal £21 to close the account for other unforseen costs.IF I HAVE BEEN OF USE TO YOU, THEN PLEASE CLICK THAT THANKS BUTTON0
