Thanks S/A. It's a weird-looking 'phone but the cost more than makes up for it ;)

Astonishing really, use your link and receive

    1) A new 'phone
    2) 500 mins of calls per month
    3)100 texts per month
    4) Money

..and the money will cover the cost of a factory reset, after which you can force the phone to stay on O2's network

    i am very tempted.
you can even make money on this.
as far as i know you can change tariff after 6 months.
you can switch to £15/month for 100 mins .

that means a further saving of £95.
so overall the year will cost you an outlay of
    9 * 15 (1st 3 months are charged at half price already)
    3 * 30 = £215 and you make £95 as well as getting your 215 back.
that is a yearly return of around 40% not a bad investment.

    ioh yeah you also get
    500mins * 6 = 3000
    + 100mins * 6 = 600
    100 texts * 6 = 600

total 3600 xnet minutes and 600 texts and they are paying you £95 for the bother.

if only 3 were a decent company and offered a decent service

i did think of that so i called them up. i was hanging on for about 15 minutes.
i had to explain my question each time because each time she seemed unsure of what i meant and even lesss usre of the answer.
she did say however that you can switch to any tariff you want - even lower- after six months.
anyone who wants to be sure can check themselves there is a freephone number you can call for sales
    0800 0496496, 0192219 & 0916666.
also if you check the t&c's on the website it does seem that this is correct.

i am still very tempted - not sure what is stopping me

Thanks , do they do this automaticlly or do you have to ask. what happens if they go bust, It seems these people are on a cash flow scam. I can't see where they make money on this deal.

Martin talks of credit card tarts but I think I'm a telephone tart.  I have just signed up for this deal and it's the third time I've got a mobile this way.  I haven't paid much more than a tenner in the last two years despite making hundreds of minutes of calls.  I know it's a pain informing people of your number change but it saves me about £30 a month.

If you sign up to this deal through greasy palm you will also get £12.50 cashback, bargain!

i think 3 will "port" your old number to your new contract for free, can anyone confirm this?
