Two days ago I posted my 4th and last cash back claim. With the first three I had to ring up and they denied receiving them, I gave them the recorder delivery number and of course, oh yes we have it we will now process your cheque.

Today I received not one but two texts saying -

"Your cash back claim has been successful. Your cheque will be with you within 28 days, there is no need to call us. Thank you"

I have had several cash back contracts through them and previously I always received a text confirmation and then the cheque.

They must have realized that people are not renewing their contracts with them and have decided to go to other cash back companies. I am looking at phones4u.

Has any body else had this special treatment?

  • Only yesterday I was given the old "We have not received your claim, please give us the recorded delivery number and date of bill to allow us to conjure it up". Of course, after receiving the info they agreed to cough it up.
  • I am aware that they have started sending texts again.

Interesting it's your last claim and they are keen - maybe they want you to take out another contract.

    Cynical - me?

I have received my final cheque from e2save, dated 6/3/09. If they had not messed me about with the first three claims I would have used them again.
    I have gone with phones4u

I think many of us have. I am now down to just one contract with E2Save; this is the first time in nearly three years that I haven't had several contracts running with them. Whilst I would still use them I know you have to be prepared to play hardball and they are not for the faint-hearted. It's academic as far as I'm concerned though, since they haven't had a decent deal since last summer and Phones4u et al are far superior in every way.

I must say that I have been very cautious with my O2 12 month contract with E2Save in taking photos of my claims and submitting claims with the T&Cs of my contract. The first 3 were paid in a timely fashion. Towards the end of my contract I rang O2 to cancel and they offered me £150 credit to go on a £10 a month contract for 18 months with 400 text and 200 minutes after which it would got tp £25 a month. i.e. £30 for 18 months. However, I had to start the deal there and then so I would not have kept on the same contract for 12 months thus breaking the rules of the E2Save cashback. I decided it was a good deal and would forgo my last claim of £62.25 from E2Save. As O2 credited me with most of the 12th month of my O2 contract (about £30) I was only losing out on about £35.

Anyway - I sent in my bill after 12 months which showed a massive credit of over £170 to E2Save as a bit of a punt... and within 2 weeks I received my final cheque for £62.35!!!! The claim was made after 30 days of the date on the bill too which was in breach of the original T&Cs but not of the ones online.

This was not a one off either. My sister did the same and she received hers too.

The only hassle I have had was claiming the automatic cashback after one month.

Thumbs up. 30 months of O2 mobile use for next to nothing.

I know we have been lucky but we have never had a problem with E2save. My wife's current contract ended 3 days ago and I have the final bill to send in, so let's hope we stay lucky. She did receive a text after sending in her January bill, presumably, if our luck holds, she will receive one soon for her final bill.

Just got my 1st cheque from phones4u. I just sent in the claim, a few days later a text received to say approved. Great!

    Have e2save improved yet?
