    may i suggest

    a corkscrew
    a sieve (if you have need for a rolling pin and scales, there is a chance it may come in handy)

    will there be an 'advanced' list for the BMs, SCs and George foremans etc?

    great idea for a thread though! be nice to see a completely definative one for store cupboard ingredients too

    BM's and SC's already have "Everything you ever wanted to know" type listings, (I'll link them below) though we are considering adding a "Basics" thread to each of them later.
