Work Pay Line Rental - Do I need their permission to add broadband

I have a couple of BT telephones lines that work pay for but would like to add broadband so I have an additional connection. Can I just call up a broadband provider with the telephone number and get broadband billed separately rather than get work involved in the process?
Need the additional connection for a bit of surfing and small amount of downloading, suggestions appreciated of providers.

Thanks in advance.

I don't see why not, as long as the line is in your name with BT. I don't think they're too bothered where the payment comes from as long as it's being paid.
But if you wanted to use BT Broadband, it might get complicated as they would have to split the bill.
Do you really need 2 work lines-why not ask work to cancel one and pay for the broadband as a substitute? Then you can just have a BT bundled package and they pay the lot.

Thanks, the BT lines are in work's name, I don't see any bills for this. Would prefer to avoid BT for the complications that you point out.

I think that when you sign up for broadband you have to declare in effect that the line is 'yours', The ISP will presumably need the line owners permission to then upgrade the line to ADSL. But I am not sure if the line 'owner' is necessarily the person who is billed.
My guess is that if you signed up under these circumstances then you would be technically in breach. But whether it would make any difference in practice I don't know.
Why not check with your preferred ISP?

You need the permission of the line subscriber to order broadband on it, but don't necessarily have to be the same party. Here, the line rental and broadband subscriptions are different family members.
