Ok we have a new house and it consists of:
Pearwood units (inbetween beech and maple)
Black slate effect flooring
Cream wall tiles and walls magnolia
Black worktops
We have a red blind, just bought some red pans and the odd container for coffee etc on the side, all seem to luckily match! Have decided to paint the end wall in red (either dulux red station 3 or B&Q's classic red) BUT last night the blind got a mark on which i cannot remove, so was going to change it to a venetian or black, the containers can be changed so it is juts the pans!Which were pricey and i want to keep out!)
So was wondering instead of the red what else would go (and match the pans!) and what others have? it is quite a large room so dark not really a prob and will only be one wall done...ideas
Thanks

I am no expert but seeing as you asked for an opinion:-)
cream blind
wooden or metallic venetian blind?
or something patterned may be nice to break things up.
Also envisaging your colours - Navy springs out as a choice.
I don't think i would personally go for black again - but its your choice!!0 -
I have
Applewood units (!)
Black porcelain floor
Cream walls
Black sparkly worktops
I have turquoise glass mosaic on the walls, and 50s style tins in creams, pinks and duck egg/turquoise. I have a black feature wall.
What about a wallpaper with red in it for your feature wall? Might vary it up a bit. I cannot think of another colour that would go with a bright red. Black, red and white/cream are a pretty classic colour combination.
Next have got some really lovely containers in bright colours which are really, really covetable. You could have different things in very bright colours. Like my clock:

I'm sorry to say that my kitchen is the one that came with the house (I've only been here just over a year), which is traditional oak with orangey brown worktops. It has dark, bluish grey, slate effect flooring and I'm trying to tone down the brown and orange by adding pale blues and greens.
If I was to try to design myself a new kitchen, I'm not sure I'd ever be able to decide what style to have!
As for your kitchen Gabyjane, I'd entirely agree with Doozergirl that a single wall in wallpaper, incuding red in the pattern, would look stunning ... and I'd go for a wooden blind, in a darker and slightly warmer looking wood than the pearwood.

Blue walls, grey and white tiles, white door fronts, and a bloody awful looking worktop. I cannot wait until we get the keys and can rip it out.
We actually saw a black sparkly worktop a couple of weeks ago and the OH surprised me by saying he liked it and could actually see it going with an induction hob. He's more of a wood worktop type of bloke but considering he doesn't seem to know how to wipe down the work surfaces after making a cup of coffee, I don't think a light wood is the best idea. It's not easy having a good time. Even smiling makes my face ache.0 -

Mine is completely different, it's not quite finished but you get the idea.
Sage green cupboards (£1 each from B&Q last summer, bargain!
), wooden worktops, brown walls and travertine floor.
