Is it ok to prepare the veg tonight? If so, how should I store it overnight? I'll never have time tomorrow, not if I've got to fry the meat. :rolleyes:If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.0

I would prepare it all now tonight and leave it in the sc over night and then just turn it on in the morning. I often do this as I don't have the preperation time in he morning.£2 Coins Savings Club 2012 is £4

You can put veg in the fridge overnight and use it in the morning - or you could cook the stew overnight and then let it cool - put it in fridge and just warm it up when you get home."This site is addictive!"

Make it up as if you were going to start cooking it. I then cook it for an hour or so turn it off let it cool. (put it in the fridge if theres room) Then just put it on to cook the next morning.£2 Coins Savings Club 2012 is £4.............................NCFC member No: 00005.........

I often do it this way. Even when you know exactly what you are doing it can be time consuming.
Just refer back to the original advice and you won't go far wrong if you get stuck just shout out.
Its simple really.
Turn slow cooker on to warm the dish.
Brown beef & onions,
Prepare veg while the meats browning.
Boil kettle to make stock.
Put beef and veg in SC
Make and pour over stock.
1hour before serving make and add thickening
1/2 before make and add dumplings.£2 Coins Savings Club 2012 is £4.............................NCFC member No: 00005.........
