Hi
My flat is available for short term let, and I want to allow online payment to customers. With out giving away my personal account details i thought I would uses an online payment system.
Paypal is expensive (in my opinion) and you hear a lot of negative online chatter.
Has martin done a comparison, are there any suggestions or recommendations
cheers

What makes you so worried about giving out your bank details? Every cheque has them written on.My TV is broken!
Edit: refunded £515 for TV 1.5 years out of warranty - thank you Sale of Goods Act! :j0 -
A direct debit to your bank would be the obvious answer. What personal details are you worried about giving away? Your sort code and account number are all that are required.0

Yes i understand that I can pay into my account directly, but the purchaser has added security, by using a credit or payment system hence my question - recommend other service other than paypal?0

Not really, they could claim anything and get their money back (fraudulent card use/lost card for example) and then you will not get paid. Once the money is in your bank by Direct Debit it is done and dusted.
Are you after your tenants paying you by credit card?0 -

If you sell on ebay you *have* to use ebay's paypal.
It's all about customer safety and nothing whatsoever to do with ebay's greed..."Love you Dave Brooker! x"

Why would you want to do that?
OP why do you want to get charged for receiving money? Why would you want to give a tenant added security? Any added security the tenant has will be more likely to cost you the landlord.
Direct Debit
Bank Transfer
Those are the best methods followed by cheque and perhaps cash bit if I was the tenant I wouldn't pay cash (potentially no record of having paid)0 -

Back on topic, most banks have their own payment systems as well as standard banking, contact your bank..0 -

Hi, I'd sign up for Google checkout as they offer better value than Paypal.0
