02 broadband - will price increase if i cancel my o2 mobile contract?

my o2 mobile contract is coming to an end and I fancy switching to the virging liberty £10 (200mins/200txts/30 days notice). Trouble is, I just realised I have o" broadband on the O2 customer rate of £7.32 and its roughly £5 per month more expensive for non-O2 customers. Question is: If i cancel my O2 mobile contract, will the O2 broadband people realise this and increase the charge for my broadband (which i'm contracted to for another 8 months)?

Anyone have any experience of this?

I would imagine so...

that said, you can get a Free O2 sim card, and as long as you top up £10 a quarter (i think - check it out) you still qualify for the £5per month discount and benefit from the calls / texts the top up gives you.

damn! when i called to cancel they offered me 300mins/300txts for £15 a month. I'll have to call back and take that now as the £5 saving with Virgin would be wiped out by the £5 extra for the broadband.
