Well done with extra cash James. How much have you got in your savings now?
Amazing that ss is sub £25k now, just seems like a week or so ago he was looking forward to being sub £30k.
Anniversary on 13th is of when we met. Also happened to be the date of both our mothers' birthdays, same date same year of birth! Both sadly dead now, mine before we met.CCs @0% £24k Dec 05 £19,621.41 Au £13400 S 12600 Oct £11,981 £9481 £7500 Nov £7250 D £7100 Jan 6950 F £5800 Mar£5400 May £4830 June £4660 July £4460 Aug £3200, S £900, £0 18/9/07 DFW Nerd 0420 -
awww Verbatim :grouphug:
although ur efforts in ur debt are going fantastic as well we should almost be debt free around the same time if im reading ur sig right :j
Ive now got £121.12 in my savings account now thanks to quidco and a few other winnings :j got a few more bits and pieces coming through on quidco as well so its reallly nice to have a little bit of money behind meSavings Total so far for 2023: £8,062.580 -
Thanks james.
I hope your stuff from Quidco comes through soon. Something in the region of £300 like ss would be good. :j Don't know how he does it.
Yep, it's certainly good to have the security of savings, in case anything unexpected comes up.
If you've paid off about £5k in 10 months will you have paid off the last £10k in another 20 months or less? Maybe less because doesn't the interest get less as the debt goes down? hope your dfd is sooner.
Our income has taken a dive this year. BUT previously we had an extremely good income and savings and we decided deliberately to buy stuff for our extension on cards to avoid taking out an even higher mortgage than the one we did take. The idea was to avoid interest by tarting and so far it has worked out OK, but I've been seriously worried with heart palpitations and sleepless nights. I'd never have gone ahead if I'd known our income was about to plummet the way it has. Still we're almost thro' this and I'm not so worried now and although the income is still way below what it was the future looks a bit more promising on that front and I'm hoping that my current tart will be the last, or if necessary just one more after that runs out in April.CCs @0% £24k Dec 05 £19,621.41 Au £13400 S 12600 Oct £11,981 £9481 £7500 Nov £7250 D £7100 Jan 6950 F £5800 Mar£5400 May £4830 June £4660 July £4460 Aug £3200, S £900, £0 18/9/07 DFW Nerd 0420 -
ur doing fantastic Verbatim and i so hope that this will be the last time that u will have to switch ur debt to another card   Would it not be possible to transfer the amount on to a card that has a low APR for the life of the balance?
and yeah haveing £300 like SS would be good :rotfl: although he has done his and his dad's Car insurance through it, and thats why hes got a fair bit coming back to him. To my knowledge i think ive got about £20 validated to come at the end of October and i have another £66.28 still tracking and to be validated :T So hopefully that will come through and i can add it to my savings :jSavings Total so far for 2023: £8,062.580 -
Well just checked me bank account and my payment for my egg loan has come out, which is cool cos it means another chunk of my debt is gone :j

Well done james! It's great when another chunk comes off.
I'm currently on 0% so low life of balance will be the next step if I haven't paid it all off by April.
Keep on keeping on James you're doing great!CCs @0% £24k Dec 05 £19,621.41 Au £13400 S 12600 Oct £11,981 £9481 £7500 Nov £7250 D £7100 Jan 6950 F £5800 Mar£5400 May £4830 June £4660 July £4460 Aug £3200, S £900, £0 18/9/07 DFW Nerd 0420 -

James - how can you avoid this? Could you keep a little stash of food somewhere, i.e. pot noodles, packet noodles (if you like that kind of thing?) Do you have access to a fridge, microwave etc?"Debt makes plans for you" - A quote from my friend Catherine. How true!0
