Many thanks D&DD  i use a garage that is situated on Thornton Heath Pond, its just behind the Bus Garage. Used this garage now for nearly 10years (since i started driving ) so i know them pretty well and they always give me a breakdown of all the work done on the car and costs.

Where abouts does ur friend take her car then?

I used to live in Norbury and know that garage well OH used it when we lived there, what a small world.
My mates one is on Stafford Road can't think of the name but she's a right tightwad so wouldn't pay over the odds :rotfl: Glad you're sorted cars are a pain when they start to play up.Can't do without ours cos of the boys so have to swallow the repair costs. We have a weird noise, neighbour thinks its a balljoint whatever the hell that is  plus a leak and it needs a service (can you see me going pale..)Its been good though never had any work before in 10 years.

    Evening james.

Glad to hear about your gambling winnings (I wouldn't dare!) and Quidco cash. Good idea to keep it in a savings account for car etc emergencies.

You're always so positive and energetic which is no doubt why you're doing so well paying off so much so quickly.:T

Willsnarf :hello: hows it going mate long time no see :hello: hows ur debt going mate? and have u managed to get ur XBox 360 yet? Im trying to get under £10,000 by the end of this month :j

Hiya Verbatim :hello: must admit i try to feel upbeat and positive about how much ive payed off me debt but like everyone else i do get peed off and depressed over it though :(

If i didnt have this debt lingering round my neck i could be saving over £600 a month in a savings account  but ive spent the money so ive got to pay it back. But only got another 18 payments in total roughly to clear the debts but i would like to get it down quicker :)

Although had fantastic news today :j me car passed its MOT :j :j :j :j only needed some new wiper blades and a bulb that had blown while they were doing the test  so in total came to £62 :j :j :j :j

So when i get paid tommorow i can start making big overpayments on me loan again :j :j

hiya PeachPickle :hello: :) thats the way im looking at it to keep me motivated still :)

Just adding up all the debt i had before i had my "proper" lightbulb moment in January of this year came to £15061.64

By the end of this year im looking at having my debt just around the £8600 so i will have effectivly paid off nearly £6500 of my debt this year :j

If i had just trundled along at the pace i was, just paying normal monthly payments i would have only have paid off £2700 of my debt.

i really cant thank this site and its members enough for showing me the way to getting myself debt free :j
