Look at hotel prices in Luxembourg city...very nice city, loads to do, but compact aswell, so no need to hire a car, use the buses etc if you can find a hotel in the central area.

Never any cheap flights to Luxembourg, I'd make the most of it...

    p.s. Congratulations on your win.

Somewhere in your head, there should be a list of places you'd like to visit at some point in the future.

Strike out all those destinations that are easy, cheap and convenient to get to on low-cost airlines.

Strike out those that are relatively cheap to get to on direct flights from the UK.

Sort the list by distance from the UK, furthest first.

    The answer: Istanbul.

  • How about Russia? They fly to both Moscow and St Petersburg, although beware you would need a visa to visit.
