Hello, I am using Internet Explorer and the history keeps deleting itself, or maybe I have done something to it but whatever, I can't work out what to do. I went into Tools, and clicked the box for the history to be retained for 20 days and then closed down and kicked it back up but its still deleting everything and its such a bind having to keep typing it all back in.
Any ideas what I should do?

If you changed it to show 20 days, did you click APPLY and then OK before you closed it down?0 -

It doesn't ask me to click apply, it just asks me to click OK, which I did, is that the same, or am I on the wrong section?:hello:  please play nicely children !0 -

Have you got a STAR and a STAR with a green cross on the left hand side of your tool bar? If you have the STAR with the green cross is your 'favourites'. When you have one of the pages you want open then click that STAR and green cross then on add to favourites.
Then to view all your favourite pages click on the STAR.

I have Windows XP so if you have Vista it might be different.
If I click on TOOLS > INTERNET OPTIONS a box comes up and under the GENERAL tab there are 3 sections Home Page - Temporary Internet Files - History (bottom box). At the very bottom there are three "buttons" OK - Cancel - Apply (greyed out and can't be used). Within the History box you can change the number of days. Once you've changed it from say 7 to 20 days the Apply button wording becomes black and it can be clicked. Once you've clicked Apply you then click OK then close down the box.
If you have Vista then I'm sorry I don't know if it's the same.
PS - you could do as flower says - add to your favourites, I find that the easiest way to go back to frequently used sites.0 -
Hello everyone, yes I am running Vista, and while I can find a way around it by clicking on favourites, I am just wanting to know why its done what its done. If anyone uses Vista and has an answer please let me know, cos its doing my nut in!:hello:  please play nicely children !0
