BT charges for changing to SKY

I paid £124 in November to set up a BT phone line in order to get SKY broadband as part of it's package deal. Shortly after this, SKy introduced it's own line rental plan, cheaper than BT's which it seemed to make sense to switch to. I have now received a bill from BT charging me £70 for early termination of contract, a line rental lock-in i had no idea about, as this was not made clear to me be either BT or Sky. Any advice?

New line with BT Retail is a 12 month contract. If you move to a new provider within 12 months the £70 charge applies.0

Any advice?Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0
