... the lip plumper is is the only thing I have given up on in the TD range it just hurts my lips to use it  maybe its just the chilly weather who knows? Sorry to go off topic a bit, but do you think Boots would change it if I tell them I am not happy with it.... I have used it for a couple of weeks. Any reply/advice would be great as I have never had the courage to take skincare back.

Well thanks to all the advice on here, I decided to be brave and take back my TD lip plumper .... since it really does hurt my lips to use it.... and to take back a line smoother at the same time which I will never never use( have an opened one in bathroom that is a waste of space) .... . Went to Boots and met the SA from hell.... First she said that she had to check with her manager what to do as too many people had been bringing back TD stuff. Then she said that because people had been using vouchers to get TD (and implying strongly to me that it had been abused) she could only give me back £2 for the lip plumper and 50p for the smoother. (I obviously didn't have a receipt :D and had told her a friend had given me the lip thing and hubby the second) She then clarified this by saying that I could have anything I wanted in the shop to the value of £12.50..... but I had to go back to her as she couldn't give this value on a on a giftcard which is what I sort of expected. Unfortunately this is where the nightmare really started. The only thing I really wanted today was the choccies as I know the offer is finishing on Tues and had 5 vouchers to use up. Could I find the boxes.... no not at first.... took me ages and ages. The last 10 boxes were really well hidden but took the 5 I wanted. So I then thought I have to buy something for £8 but what???? Decided to get some nappies £8.98.... unfortunately/fortunately pampers had sent me a £2 voucher this very week. I was very pleased with myself 5x99p and 1x £8.98 -£2 voucher grand total £11.98, thought that would make it nice and easy for everybody. Went back to SA from hell.

    1) First I had to wait ages and ages as she was dealing with someone infront who wanted a £5 voucher but she had run out of them at her till arghhhhh

    2) while waitiing for these she looked at my basket and said "You can only have those boxes for 99p if you have vouchers expecting me to not have them" Well I told her I knew that and had 5!!! If looks could kill.... she then implied I must of been very "lucky" to get the vouchers. It was at this point I snapped  Told her the only reason I have them is because I spend a lot of money in boots and she obviously does not have children otherwise she would know how expensive they are and why I spend so much!...... the woman infront agreed with me and that shut her up.

    3) Next nightmate was when it was my turn to be served - she couldn't get the pampers voucher to work. The choccies had to be treated as seperate transactions... she didn't tell me this..... it took ages...huge queue behind me as I was at the cosmetics counter.. then she gave up and ........

    4) She dragged me to manager's office - he tried and said the problem was that I hadn't "spent" enough!!!! I kindly pointed out that the whole thing would have been so much easier if they had given me £12.50 in the first place!!!!! He agreed and said to SA put it on a giftcard and and she did and then it all worked. Arghhhhhh!

    5) It was right at the end of all this that I realised that the nappies were the wrong size (must of been so stressed I had picked up the wrong size).... had to change them..... with SA following me like her life depended on it......then had to wait while manager agreed to the swap   :eek: both sizes are the same price as everyone who buys nappies knows you just get fewer or more in the big pacKs but they all cost £8.98

Writing this has helped a lot.... but I wasted so much time today, the whole thing was soooooo stressful that I really don't know if it was really worth it....might have to console myself BY eating not just a couple of choccies but a couple of BOXES .....at least they are lovely

Hiya Sandra, I haven't looked in Boots tbh, was planning on going this week, but tomorrow I have a day long Interview skills course, Tuesday - Financial Analysis course, Wednesday - End of Year review meeting - I was the only one to be awarded an B grade in the whole dept so get a big bonus and many gold stars :rotfl: , Thursday - I have a job interview in my office for Credit Controller in Finance and Friday, school assemblies and Tesco shopping. Thank goodness my migraine has now gone and I feel back to my usual busy self.

I work in Cardiff Bay, next to the Welsh Assembly building, so If I do get into town then I will let you know, still hoping for an EI voucher from OH's card. I think I will be going into Queen St and avoiding Boots Cardiff Bay from now
on but will keep a lookout for you.

Hi megasaver - sorry to hear about the ordeal. From experience and reading posts on here, the general rule seems to be that young SAs aren't so bothered, and middle-aged resentful bitter crabby SAs will bite and bark. (With exceptions... ;) )

Before I say anything else, to be fair, in accordance with Boots returns policy as printed on the back of every receipt, without a receipt all you were entitled to is an exchange of equivalent value, so you'd have been fairly lucky to just be given £12.50! (That's surely what the SA should have politely pointed out at the start of your conversation.)

To me, that discourtesy in itself is worthy of you calling the manager.

Now I'm annoyed! "Dragged you?" If there's any dragging to be done, it should have been you dragging her by the sound of it! (By the throat!)

You don't get dragged off like a shoplifter, if there's a problem needing the manager's attention - they come and see you.

At the end of it all, you should have asked to go and see the manager and made a complaint that the SA had been:-

    hostile
    rude to you
    discourteous
indirectly accused you of being deceitful
embarrassed you in front of other customers
made your shopping trip in Boots throroughly unpleasant
followed you like a sholifter while you were replacing the nappies at the end

not apologised for any of the above after a manager had agreed to your initial request

I hope you can find it in yourself to go back to this miserable cow and return the other part-used TD Line Smoother sitting in your bathroom that you're unhappy with. It has a money-back guarantee written on it if your not "entirely happy" with it.

At the very least write an accurate description of the above to Head Office explaining and mentioning each of the times that basic expected levels of Customer Service were not maintained by this woman.

Well done you on your grade and bonus, you have a very busy week, you will be well and truly shattered after the week you have planned - I really sympathise. I will keep a look out as well and let you know if I see any. I think the EI coupon out of the machine has disappeared along with a lot of the other ones with the change over on Thursday.

Good look with your courses and after each day you can pamper yourself with all your boots goodies.

I really feel for you, you must have wanted to crawl under a stone. I cannot believe you were so calm, I would have flipped my lid and told her what I thought of here there and then in front of the whole store while demanding to see the manager for her behaviour.

If it ever happens again remember the customer is always right and look her right in the eye and tell her you do not like her attitude and what she is insinuating and demand that she gets a manager immediately, turn the situation totally on it head, she will then want to crawl under a stone.

If you are not strong enough take a friend with you who is.

It was mentioned yesterday (forget who by) about whether kid's suncream is ok for adults?

As adults have tougher skin than kids, I'd imagine it is - Yes?

Also can anyone recommend a decent non-greasy sun protection that fully absorbs and is generally OK next to fabrics? Most of the ones I've ever used seem to leave a terrible layer of grease on the body - ok for the beach but no use for everyday wear. Thanks. :)

A bit loathed to admit this but, :rotfl: I've always found Boots Soltan for sensitive skin doesn't leave an oil slick on your body. Although Boots is generally very expensive for sun cream, there own range is very good and is BOGOF at the moment.
