Ragtimeplayer wrote:I must point out as there seems to have been a little bit of controversy from my post this morning. I had been into Boots about 5 times in my life before I found these forums so they have had very little money from me in the past.
Since becoming aquainted with all these lovely freebies and bargains, I have spent a fortune in there, literally! One last thing, I read this forum every day, its a very enjoyable part of my life and I would hate to think anyone was thinking badly of me.This is a system account and does not represent a real person. NETTYB3 wrote:I purchased 2 DR handcream sets... the other night I found the time to 'pamper' my hands but found the smell of the cream awful and it gave me a terrible migraine almost instantly.
That hand mask was good fun, though I was worried it'd be a pain to get the stuff off, but it washed off easily with a bit of handwash.
Love the smell of the Rescue Balm - divine.
Next the best bit - the buffing! Well I'm no longer a buffing virgin!Although I'm not sure I was doing it right.
Started on my left thumb and didn't see any difference - buffed away until it got uncomfortably warm. (Actually buffed smooth all the "thumb ridges".) Then was getting a bit bored so didn't spend as long on the others. Washed my hands again and put the tamarind cream (lovely stuff but the smell is a bit odd) and then noticed that my nails had gone very glossy! Look lovely today!
Don't think I'll be going for the full nail varnish just yet, but am looking forward to next pampering session.

Anyone know why Boots isn't 24 hour opening?!?!?
I've been Boots free since Thursday. Decided I'd go to a little one today in Huyton to redeem my Lindor and Skincare vouchers. Don't venture there often since it doesn't have an AC machine. Nearly lost me smalls when I walked around the corner and saw that the windows were all covered up and it was closed for "improvements".
Just hope the "improvements" include plenty of "slightly-shop-soiled-due-to-improvements" bargains when it finally re-opens :rotfl:0 -

Make sure your nails are completely DRY first ... then whilst buffing always move the buffer accross the nail in the same direction. So - start at the nail bed and move toward the free edge, move the buffer away from nail back to nail bed and repeat and so on. Hope that makes sense!
Happy buffing0 -
bham-dave wrote:Hi chell - if that ever happens again, just say you've forgot something and go and get another one. If there's a big queue waiting behind you, say you've forgot something and ask for the entire transaction to be voided and then take your basket, get something else and rejoin the queue.
I've done that - the SA "suspended" the sale and carried on serving other people and when I got back with my extra bits, just bought back the transaction where it stood.0 -
Yesterday I bought quite a few bits of children's clothes with the 25% off, and all were already in the sale. I apologised to the SA beforehand that I was going to split the transaction into £10 lots which she helped me with. I thought that the total ended up higher than I anticipated, and so checked my receipt afterwards standing just beside the till. The total had been about £35 in three lots. But nearly all the reduced clothes had gone through at the wrong price. SA had to redo them all and I ended up getting over £8 back.
So just watch out if you buy things reduced, although you may want to let them go through the till get your voucher and then get the refund - I didn't do that deliberately, was too busy trying to stop dd wrecking the shop and the SA was taking the items from the pile and putting them through.0
