in Credit cards
Hi
Now this is no wind up. Owed 5k approx on a popular credit card and went to check the balance the other week in order to shift it to another card.
Well, the balance is now Zero - and I have no idea how! The statement does not show a big payment, the amount just went - woosh....
I only stooze on this amount and am 100% certain that I did not unwittingly do a transfer. So what do I do now? Wait until the card company cantacts me and appreciate the time, but could they not fairly say "so where did you think the 5 k went - give us full interest at 15% for the last XXX months", so should I ring them??
Any advice is appreciated.

You have to be honest. Contact them and explain the situation. You will have to pay it back anyway, so this is better sorted out as soon as possible.Money in longest works hardest0 -
ask for the last few statements so you can see what happened to it.Nice to save.0

, wasn't seriously suggesting it! Anyway as it could be that this is the card issuers error so don't see why the OP would get min 18 months.

Talking from experience having dealt with a similar incident a few years ago when I was a Police Officer (before I retired) .....it matters not is you have the money in cash or it has gone through some sort of electronic banking system if you benefit from it then sorry to say your guilty that is unless you do something about it such as telling the bank. If you wait for the bank to contact you then there could be some awkward questions.Aiming to be debt free....but still off target0

Hi
I do check my statement on-line and going over the last few months you can see my payments and the balance remaining, then suddenly you get a 0.00 balance and no in-payment.
I am tempted not say anything because I would imagine most people who are financially unaware would purely go on what the minimum amount to pay slip states. In the big picture of things, 5k is not a staggering amout of cash and could, in theory not be noticed.
But unfortunately my concience has got the batter of me and I will ring, however knowing how much money these credit card companies manke in interest will make the call a difficult thing to do....0 -
Are you sure that they havent closed the account and passed it to a debt collection agency???????????????????? :eek:0
