Nokia 6500 Slide

I currently have a Nokia 6500 slide on Orange, 18mth contract which is not due to expire until August this year. My problem comes from the fact that the phone is just generally useless, keeps asking for sim registration, cuts off half way through calls or through typing a text message etc. Just wondering if anyone has had any sucess speaking to Orange about this, I am paying for insurance through them but when i smashed the screen of the phone accidently not long after taking the contract out I was required to pay £20 to replace the handset (understandable it was my clumsiness) however I am not willing to pay when the fault is with the phone and not mishandling. Any advice please?

  • i no this might not work but u tried updating the firmware on yer fone, i had a sony ericsson c902 and it kept cuttin off , camera froze etc updated the software on it then had no probs,
