Flight LON-->SAN FRAN-->NYC-->LON

I'm trying to find somewhere to get a quote on these flights. Leaving London (or anywhere in the uk) on 31st July. Leaving San Francisco on 8th August and NEw York on 15th August.
I can only find expedia which will search for multiple destinations. Searching for the individual flights brings up highly inflated prices.

A few sites will let you search like that.
try Opodo - click on muilti-stop or just click:

Thomas Cook - click on Multidestination or just click:

Airlines that fly direct form LHR-SFO are BA, Virgin and United. United is the only airline that flies direct LHR-SFO-JFK-LHR. Virgin America is likely to fly SFO-JFK but it doesn't have US approval to start flying yet.
Call a consolidator like https://www.trailfinders.com and ask them to quote you for a return to SFO with a stopover in NYC, the stopover is likely to be free.
https://www.jetblue.com flies from OAK-JFK. Oakland is a smaller airport on the other side of San Francisco bay. Delta Song also fly SFO-JFK http://www.flysong.com/home/index.jspPosts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0 -
adds an extra stop but try pricing a return London to New York 31/7-15/8 then an internal flight NYC to San Fran on 31/7 evening - 8/8 comes in around £700+ so far not sure what prices you have so far0

Best so far is all 3 legs with Continental at £800 or so. Cali needs to be first, it's a 2 week honeymoon and we want the chill out first.0

An open jaw ticket (ie LON-SFO--NYC-LON) and then buy a cheapo one way from SFO to NYC?
Other option find a US carrier who uses NYC as a hub (don't know if any do), get to SFO connecting at NYC in July, then you will have your return from SFO to NYC, using this bit as a stop-over before you get to LON.
Other option, get a return to NYC and then buy a NYC-SFO return.
Sorry, can't help you on pricing though.
Have a look at South Western and Jet Blue to see if they fly NYC-SFO. Also see if airlines fly to Oakland, which is pretty close to San Fran."An eye for an eye leaves the whole world blind" - Mahatma Gandhi0 -
Try American Airline and use their 'Multi-City' option. However all transcontinental flights at the end of July will cost a lot.0

We just went to newyork and vegas, we wanted to fly to nyc then to vegas then direct back home from vegas, but it was £1200 cheaper to fly back to nyc then home.0

This is the way to do it.
Also ring American Airlines (0207-365-0777 within London, or 0845 7-789-789 outside of London) and ask for the pricing of a LHR-SFO return trip with NYC as a FREE stopover on the return leg
Other FREE stopovers (outward AND return are BOS\ORD\LAX.)
I'm sure other major US carriers let you have free stopovers as well.0 -

As stated above that is called an open-jaw.
As I suggested in an earlier post it is always cheaper to arrange a trip as you suggest with AA by using their multi-city option when booking on their website. In addition to the flights being cheaper on-line, you incur a booking fee when making a telephone booking.
Incidentally AA give a guarantee that you will not find a cheaper price on any site like Opodo/Expedia etc than their on-line price(found the same day). If they do you will refund and give you a voucher.
You also always get full miles when booking with AA plus a bonus for on-line booking.0 -

Not the route I quoted it's not
I wasn't clear re ringing AA. It does cost £15.00 per ticket if you book on the phone, but just to ask the question as to what routes you can fly (the web-site isn't always accurate) with FREE stopovers its an easy way to check.
If you do the AA route then I agree with what cardew says about booking on-line and joining AAwards (both of you).0
