Paypal fees (assuming the seller has a Premiere or Business account, i.e. one which can accept card-funded payments) would be 20p (+4%, which I assume in the example above would be rounded down to 0, and so there would effectively be no percentage charge). EBay listing fees apply as normal, even if an item fails to sell, but since the Final Value Fees are charged as percentages, I assume that this would also be rounded down to 0.0

isn't there a fee for using buy it now?Accept that some days you're the pigeon and some days you're the statue.0

I think there is a minimum start value of £0.99 for BIN items. Basic listing fee is 15p which includes a photo but if you want gallery there is an additional fee of 15p.(this thursday you can get gallery for 1p) Starting values of £5 and £15 attract increased listing values.0

So how do these sellers that sell thousands of ebooks for 1p make any profit?0

I dont think they can. It must just be a way of getting loads of feedbacks to make them look more trustworthy in the future. (my opinion only).'If it's not broken, keep fixing it until it is'.0 -

I'd be extremely unlikely to trust any seller whose feedback was almost entirely from sales of very cheap e-books.0 -
I bought one of these 1p items, it was actually a picture just to see what it was all about, after I had paid my 1p via paypal I asked him why he was doing it, he said that if he sold about 100+ per auction he would make profit, no real effort to relist and if you have a shop, fees are lower and you can list for upto 31 days so I guess profit can be made out of nothing

If that were to happen whats the point in the buyer paying the seller may aswell just give the item to the seller and not bother collecting payment!!Weight Loss - 102lb0 -
PayPal fee would probably be £0.20 or £0.21 depending on whether the 3.4% of £0.01p is rounded from £0.00034 to £0.01 or to £0.00 (probably £0.01 because PayPal still get money then ) You then have to add on £0.20 which i standard and always happens to stop buyers putting tiny transactions through and Payal getting a very small profit.0

Paypal cannot take more than the amount received, so a payment made of 1p can only cost 1p to receive maximum.
