But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free;)
Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important.:D
Today i will:
- check online banking -
- update spreadsheets
- move some money to savings
- storecupboard lunch and tea
- laundry hokey cokey for OH
- ironing for me
- reduce, reuse,recycle one thing
- clean one room in house to save having big clean at weekend
- swim and jacuzzi to use gym membership
- not use car
- try and have a no spend day - spent £1.50 yesterday on veggies
- Be very sparkly -
silver star socks on today;)

Hugs to anyone still poorly or feeling down

Another blue sky this morning but there was more snow overnight and it is cold. However the sun is shining!!!
Today
I brought the car to work because I have to attend a meeting tonight. I'll get mileage so that will more than cover the cost of bringing the car to work and a free buffet at the meeting so that is tonight's tea sorted!
No spend day.
Home made sandwiches for lunch including flask of home made soup.
I will check bank balance at lunchtime.
Check savings account balances. No changes anticipated but it does fire me up to see credit balances.
Presently using soap and shampoo courtesy of hotels from previous weekend breaks so a little saving there.
Download Cafe Rouge free bottle of wine when you spend £20 offer. That'll do nicely for a meal out after our weekend break next week.
Good walk at lunchtime. Do some window shopping and congratulate myself on the money I am saving by not impulse buying.
Have a sneaky wee read at some of the newspapers in WH Smith. Saves buying them.
Just remembered that I have no Council Tax this month or next month. £320 saved!!!
Some might say I am pretty sad but it doesn't half make a difference to the old bank account.
Discipline and determination. Everyone can get there!!0 -
Morningggggg all

aww @ mrs Audus - bless you - hot honey & lemon in case it's the start of a cold etc, nd a big hug heading your way. Have you had a look on the TV Times website instead of buying that mag?
My own list is woefully small - I'm working today:
1) Check online banking, make sure hubby hasn't snuck his card out the house
2) put some more stuff on ebay ready for the move
3) Photogragh all those horrible 80's toys Ex left, as some crazy person actually wants them lol
4) Badger local shops to give me boxes.
5) Storecupboard tea
6) sign up to all the freebie points I can for ipoints - I'm 76% towards the next lot of vouchers towards our Disney tickets!!!
Today I am wearing my funky blue/green handknitted socks I finished last night. They are super comfy and my excuse is they stop me turning on the heating...actually I'm just really proud of them....This year I'm getting organised once and for all, and going to buy a house with my wonderful other half. And that' s final!
