The only man who sticks closer to you in adversity than a friend is a creditor.

I should have received CWP as I get disabled child premium as part of my Income Support. However we have not had any payments at all this winter and we live in the Highlands of Scotland.
I checked the link that listed triggers up till 6th December and saw that our station had triggered twice by then! So last week I went through the I.S. call line (0845 but call your local jobcentre and they can put you through) and reported this. The woman I spoke to took my details and said the person (yes I do think she meant the person singular) who dealt with this had a backlog and would get back to me when she could.
Anyway do not assume that these payments are automatic, we got one last year but seem to have dropped off the system this year. So better to call and query if you have any doubts at all.0 -
An update on my saga with CWP. Got my first letter of the winter today saying I was getting a cold weather payment. Called to ask what had happened to all the others! I.S. said I would have to send my account statements to show I did not receive any previous payments as they had no way of knowing who they had paid! Also they could not explain why I had not been paid previously but had just received payment for the start of Feb.
Check your statements! If in any doubt call or write to ask them to check as our office (Clydebank who seem to deal with all of Scotland) don't have much of a clue. The system does appear to miss out people so do not assume payments are automatic!0 -
