I believe Smeg have a mail-in offer for a free 5 year guarantee at the moment - sure I saw it on their UK site.0

It's sad, but the repair man has told me he'd never recommend a SMEG - if you can get a 5 year warranty then do.
Within 3 years I've had these faults;
oven thermostat - new, fan in main oven - new, grill - new, light in main oven - new. There was something else too - but I can't remember what! Smeg didn't want to know, wouldn't even supply the parts at a reduced price. Cost me around £300 to repair. :mad:
The stove had a rrp of £1500 when I bought it, (I paid £1200), and I did not expect to face costly repairs so soon. (And although I cook a lot, not every day, and it's most certainly not been abused.)
On the plus side - it is a lovely stove, very solid and I cook some excellent food both on and in it.

I was going to go for an A2-5, but having read many reviews mentioning similar problems to yours, I'm going for a Neff F3470 instead0
