Do you honestly think the council has been periodically checking the car park and writing down everyones mileage reading?

Its not rocket science for them to check who owns a vehicle

it was REPORTED as being abandoned (we don't know who by or when)

so it's feasible that the council would monitor it. one way to check would be if it had not been moved/mileage hadn't increased.

You dont by any chance work for the council do you?

The easiest way for them to check would have course been to check the owner .

Unfortunately not.....E.L.V.I.S. is the Easy Link Vehicle Information Suite. Designed for, amongst other things, to "Enables inter-organisational collaboration" and laughingly the the Vehicle Recovery part states that it caters for requirements by
    • Providing a central resource for abandoned, and other, vehicle information to enable instant sharing of data between all organisations.
    and
    • Giving public facing staff in all organisations involved in the process the tools they need to provide a speedy and useful service for their customers
What a joke:rotfl: and apparently more than Northamptonshire Police use this system!!

My husband is full of usless information, don't you think :D

Anyways, we didn't receive the phone call from the council as promised. So the letter will be handed in to the council first thing tomorrow. I think the coucil have to reply to complaints within a certain time scale, not to sure what it is to be honest.

A quick question for you, when we do put a complaint in, can the recovery company still crush the car?? Or do we have to appeal??

Don't hand it in - you'll have no proof you sent it. Can you send it by recorded delivery?

I can get proof if i hand it in to reception. I would rather it get there tomorrow, then in a couple of days. Each day costs us £20 in fees..
