Transfer to natwest e-ISA

i've successfully managed to open an e-ISA, and have just mailed back the slip to move this years allowance in. however, I also want to transfer money across from another ISA. I've tried to complete the form online ready to print off and take to a branch, but am having a problem because the form only allows a six-digit sort code and eight digit/character account number for the ISA to be transferred.
My existing ISA is with a building society (Nationwide) and although there is a sort code and eight digit bank account inside the passbook they're both obviously standard to the product, not personal to me. My personal 'account number / reference ' is of the form 9999/999 999 999 which is too long to go on the form. Anyone else had this problem and if so how did you get round it ? You can't leave the account number blank - I did think of putting something like 'SEE NOTE' in the field and then writing the account number on after I had printed the form off, but I'm not sure if this would cause a problem ......0 -
Hi - I wonder if someone can help me on this. I have an existing ISA with about £400 in it from last year (with Alliance and Leicester).
I want to transfer this into the Natwest e-ISA as it's the best interest I can get on it.
Because I have opened the e-ISA this year, (which I am about to do), do I have to save this years allowance in the e-ISA also or can I open another (with better interest) to put new savings into?
It's all pretty new to me!
Thanks0 -
I have about £8000 in a Natwest cash ISA (1%). I have gone through the online application to open an E-ISA, which has now appeared on my online banking list. I filled in the transfer form and took it to my branch. The 'ISA expert' at Natwest told me that they could only transfer £3600 of my old ISA as "that is the full allowance", and I could pay no more in this year.
I'm sure they are wrong? Can anyone confirm, and give advice what I should do?
Thanks.0 -
I'm not sure about the isa rules but I know many of Natwest staff are ill informed about their products so the best thing to do is give them a call and get verification
Tel: 0131 5568555 - and ask them to put you through to your branch0 -

If Natwest don't want your transfer, vote with your feet and transfer to a provider that does, and that will permit you to add your full 2009/10 allowance.0 -
Has anyone actually managed to tranfer an existing ISA from another provider to a Natwest E ISA, and how long did the transfer take.0
