    Could be a couple of things...
    1) Card is not in properly - this will cause the screen not to come on. Does the PC 'sound' like it is booting up, ie fans start spinning followed by a single beep / hard drive noise? Remove card, and refit.
    2) Powersupply not powerful enough.
    3) Some AGP cards are not compatible with all motherboards.
    4) Faulty card....

    1) PC is deffo making all the normal sounds
    2,3,4) are you saying that if all these are ok the PC would automatically work from the new card?

    Thanks Jaydeeuk1

    OK - it's dead. :cry:

    So the next plan is to buy (well save for) a new PC and use a hard drive caddy to get all the stuff off my old pc onto the new one and then use the old HD as extra storage. (feel free to troubleshoot that idea for me!)

    I have the hard drive in my hand and caddy shops say they are 2.5", 3.5" or 5.5".... where do I measure because none of those dimensions match the hard drive I have. :confused:

    Never heard of a 5.5" HDD, in a desktop it should be a 3.5". Is the drive the same width as a floppy drive?
    Ubuntu is an ancient African word, meaning: 'I can't configure Debian'.

    Isn't it the width of the drive platters (as opposed to the width of the casing)?

    Antistatic wrist strap anybody? :think::confused:
    Since when has the world of computer software design been about what people want? This is a simple question of evolution. The day is quickly coming when every knee will bow down to a silicon fist, and you will all beg your binary gods for mercy.
