it isnt really about money although i now have chronic pain every day and according to the pain clinic i go to it will probable be there for the rest of my life, i will probably have to have a joint replacement op in the future ( i am not old enough yet) as they have been damaged due to the problems with the tendons ect that have been damaged during the ops and due to the tightness of the scare tissue. i have had to give up my dream job and my future is now much more limited but what i really want some one to take responsiblity.
it is not the hand surgeons fault as he has done his best to repair the damage done in the 2nd op but he saw me 7 months to late and its not the physios, or occupational therepists fault they have done there best but they cannot undo what was done

So who, in a nutshell, do you think is responsible? Have you any evidence that they have been negligent?
  • the fact that the op went wrong isnt the neglegence i feel, it is that after this accidental damage was done the surgeon did nothing

    why?........................................to the OP
  • i have been told time and again that if the nerves had been repiared as soon as possible the long term damage can be limited and if as my g.p. and requested he had seen me or had sent me to see the consultant or better yet the hand surgeon the damage would have been a lot less. he just said when i saw him at 6 week check that he hadnt seen this happen before

GEt an appointment with a solicitor who specialises in injury and ask his opinion.Surely that will not be money wasted.

Why didn't your GP refer you to someone else if the original guy was unavailable?

To be honest, it doesn't sound like you have helped yourself in this case.
