  • some lovely ideas on here. I plan to make my mum a necklace and earring set and some coconut ice, the same for the mother in law.

I have lots of beads etc already and the coconut ice will not cost much to make. I will jazz up the jar a little bit too.

I'm going to make some coconut Ice, they had a lovely recipe in my last weight watchers magazine, it was half white half pink, wrapped up in cello and pretty ribbon. They also had mint creams which look fab!

  • my mother in law bought me a book with lovely recipes in, at the back there are a few pages with gifts etc in so I think she will like to have something made from it

Also going to make my mum some Chocolate Ginger truffles. My BF made them for me for valentines day and they were really nice so I think she will like them. Basically your usual choc truffle recipe but with pieces of chopped up stem ginger. And then he dipped them in cocoa powder and covered them in cadbury's choc. They were really nice! :D

Ok, fair enough. Hope the site does well. No need for the attitude though... the post did come across like a spam message, especially as it was one of your first posts. Hope you mum likes her gifts. :p

I have made a start on my mum's Mother's Day pressie

Devil Wears Prada DVD (Sainsburys £3)
    Stardust DVD (Sainsburys £3)
    Paperback book (Sainsburys £2)
Michael Ball Live at the Albert Hall CD (£3 Sainsburys)

Splashed out a hopefully genuine pashmina from ebay for £7.99 delivered

All that's left now is a box of hugs, and a wicker basket from somewhere and a bunch of daffies on the day.

Comes in at around the £20 - ish mark all in dependant upon the price of what is left to get.

It might not be as moneysaving as others but good for me as I would have spent £40 on delivered flowers before so I am feeling very pleased with myself at having carefully thought out what she might like/use. If she doesn't like the DVD's I'll have them!
final unsecured debt to repay currently £8333

If anyone has got The Works near them they have some lovely books called "Mother's Memoirs". Basically each page has questions on about your mum and spaces for her to write answers and put pictures and it was only £2.99:j

I got one for my mum (just hopes she fills it in:rolleyes: )
