Phone / Broadband / TV package

Hi,

We are looking for a telephone line to be setup, a Broadband provider and Sky tv, does anyone know whether it is best to get these all together under one provider e.g. Sky or to have a BT phone line, Sky tv, and another Broadband provider as seperate.

We definitely want Sky tv though so may be swaying towards a total Sky package.

Are there any good deals out there at the moment?

  • With the exception of the Sky branded tv, Virgin media have an allround package that doesn't require a BT Phone line rental.

I pay £20 a month for Broadband, tv and a phone line (with free evening (6pm+) and weekend landline calls. I believe it is possible to 'tailor' a package to suit your needs and I also hear they have a '3 months free' promotion on at the moment - Might be worth checking out, since BT Phone line rental is like £11? a month too?

They connected it all up for free and advised that if I were to move, it would be free to re-setup!

I hope this is of some help!

If you don't already have a landline, you can't order Sky TV or broadband unless you already have a BT line installed, or about to be installed. So I guess there is a 12 month minimum contract on the line rental with BT, then you could switch to whoever you wanted.
So unless you are taking a cable package including phone and TV with VM, (are you in a VM cabled area?) you need to start with BT.
Generally it's going to be cheaper to bundle your phone and broadband, but throw Sky into the mix and you should look at what they can offer you for the whole package.
PS: you should first check if you are in a Sky Broadband network area by putting your postcode into this link:

Thanks folks, I guess its either VM or BT to start the ball rolling for 12 months, and then i can have more options further down the line.
