I've seen it mentioned in several places online that Moben and Kitchens Direct are actually the same company but I can't find anything official to confirm this.
Does anyone know if it's true please?

just spent 1/2hr typing a reply and lost it!! Moben and KD are the same whether theyre owned by an american shareholder or not. Their product is ok ish but its overpriced. Ul be hit with high pressure sales and told theres a sale on. Theres always a 'sale' butin this industry u dont have sales...the product isnt even made yet so why do u need a sale to off load it? if u resist the special offer theother company will start badgering u. Do urself a favour google moben - the first result will be them the next 30 will be complaints. its usually service - they subcontract fiters and pay them nothing so they dont care. They will never even answer ur calls its a disgrace really. I am a designer myslef and know morethan most about everybody in this game...The thing is theres never real sales...a kitchen project regardless of size will cost u £10 - 15k incl cabinetry appliances granite labour tiling lighting....doesnt matter if u get a shi**y ikea rubbish or a desigenr german kitchen (unless u buy the brand) the cabinetry is a fraction of ur total price. theres massive differences between different manufacturers but the price for a good one isnt much different from a bad one...the difference is prouct knowledge of whatsavailable, a good design and a good fitter..as no kitchen goes in without a hitch and u need someone who is good and proud of his work...feel free to ask me any advice free of charge (mrsheenpearl60@hotmail.com)0

Oh don't worry I have absolutely no intention of buying anything from either of these companies. Just on a fact-gathering mission before I launch into a full-scale battle with them tomorrow after one of their sales people conned an extremely vulnerable person out of a LOT of money this weekend. The salesman claimed to be from Kitchens Direct yet had product literature from Moben with him“You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you can never please all of the people all of the time.”0

Thank you, fingers crossed the matter is now resolved. I think threatening them with the press did the trick“You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you can never please all of the people all of the time.”0

Think I am about to join those who have complained or received bad service from Moben !! Fell for all the showroom stuff - more fool me !!! Thought was getting project managed job throughout !!! Project management is a joke with Moben !!!!!! Kitchen now been delayed through lack of planning and booking of key tradesmen !!!! Call me old fashioned but booking tradesmen to do the jobs on the day the job starts is absurb !!!!!!
Have calmed down now reading this forum and many many many others !!! How can one company survive with all the complaints and bad service !! Only mug really is me for paying on delivery !!!!! Won't make the same mistake of ever using this company again !! If had the time again would use local and take time off to properly manage myself rather than a so called "Project Manager" and I use the term lightly !!!!
Moben = bad service, bad planning, call centre staff patronising and useless.:mad:Saving the planet whilst saving pennies !!!!!!!0 -
I cannot believe they are still in business! I had a kitchen fitted by Moben 5 years ago, and it was awful. It took about 6 weeks in total, because of all the mistakes each fitter made (worktop cut badly, cabinets fitted wonky etc), and to cap it all off, once it was finished, a couple of months down the line one of the wall sockets started smoking at about 10.30 pm. I got my next door neighbour to have a look (he is a sparky), and he said that if it had happened whilst I was in bed, the whole house could have burnt down! Oh, and everytime I rang Moben regarding problems with the fitters, not only did it take days to get through (yes really!), when I did manage to speak to a customer service person, they said that they were unable to sort anything out and got really rude when I asked for a quick response (ie I wanted to get my kitchen working again after a week without worktops!).
AVOID THEM !!!!!!!!0 -
few yrs ago, my BIL ( hes a dikhead) paid moben 5k for the smallest kitchen you can imagine.
(2 bed terraced house in manchester).
every time i see it, i just burst out laughing. its pathetic.Get some gorm.0 -
  Project Management and Moben are not on the same planet never mind understanding the concept of planning for tradesmen and time lines !!!
My kitchen is finally finished now and looking good but only down to the fitter !!! Finished 6 days after was told it would be finished (Sorry 4 days as weekends don't count in their book !!! - Time must have stood still for us with no cooking facilities to miss these 2 days !!) with the Gas man finally turning up on 3rd attempt. Mind you we are on a new estate and those toms toms are so confusing !!
Anyhow bottom line avoid them like the Plague as you do not get your money's worth in regard to having the kitchen done in the time they state and the amount of time spent on phones repeating yourself and dealing with people who can only blame others for their shortcomings !!!!!!
Moben = NO THANKSSaving the planet whilst saving pennies !!!!!!!0
