Ideas to use up cooked pasta anyone?

Hi
As usual, I always overcook the amount of pasta needed (how do you get portion size right?) Anyway, immediate problem is I'm left with a tupperware box full of the cooked stuff and it's too cold to think about pasta salad...

Any suggestions on 'pasta bake' ideas and could I put that in the freezer when done?

Hope someone has some ideas to help!
Mup.

  • I use a cup to mesure the amount of pasta, but this is no good if you change brands/type

Add some vinigrette tomatoe, cuecumber, feta cheese, that kind of stuff
and make an alternative to expensive pasta salads...

Mix it with a cheese sauce put in a caserol dish with grated chees on top and warm through.

You could add chopped ham, cooked bacon, cooked onion anything you like to the sauce.

    Hi
Thanks for suggestions so far - if I cook with cheese etc, can I cool and freeze it? Not sure we can face pasta again tonight!

Just had a thought - can I freeze the cooked pasta 'as is' and defrost to do as a bake at a later date? Or is it best done as pasta bake and frozen?

Hope some 'cook-y' people can help here!

Ive only ever frozen pasta with a sauce, the pasta does become more watery but with a nice sauce it doesnt really matter, how well it would freeze on its own, im not sure as it will absorb more water due to the freezing process.
  • sorry didnt sound right. when you defrost the pasta and make the bake you cant use it again or refreeze
