Wig wrote:If they are standard fit H7 or H4 bulbs as I seem to find googling corsa 2004 headlight ............ You must be able to just fit a cheaper bulb 155 pounds sounds rediculous. I don't see any reason why you should not be able to fit cheaper xennon from a motor factors or just normal basic bulbs for 5 pounds each.
There was also a guy on Ebay selling them for 16 pounds.
I don't understand it
I'd also at least take a look at what is "in the way" to stop you changing the bulb yourself. Changing a bulb is a simple task, and removing what is there shouldn't be that difficult!
Post a photo of your bulb and your engine bay please. Obviously you have not got your bulb out yet I suppose. Maybe the bulb type is listed in the Haynes manual specs & techs.
Zenons are not standard H7 H4 bulbs - they're a £1000 optional extra on most cars. Whilst there may be somewhere to buy them cheaper, a lot of newer cars have bulbs which are difficult to change - My Alhambra as an example. In my view Zenon bulbs add nothing to the car - in fact the headlamps on newer cars is one of the most dramatic improvements. ~It's too late now, but I wouldn't waste money on zenons.0 -
I would try some local motor factors / halfords. Most xenon lamps I have looked at come in at £80 - 90. It is probably worth shopping around. To change them on most cars is not really a big deal if you are the least bit technical. On my car the headlight has to come out ..... takes me 15 mins to change the bulb ....... the longest part of the job is finding the right spanners
Just make sure they are fully discharged before putting your fingers in there. 0 -
Just recently i got 2x H4 xenon bulbs for my volvo in Halfords at special price of £12.50 in one of those buy 1` get 1 free deals and definately lot brighter0

These are not xenon bulbs they are HID bulbs ............... if you can't find one cheaper else where and fit it your self then give me a shout......... i will need the vauxhall part number but i will be able to get it from Vauxhall with a 10-15% discount.

'04 Corsa so it's still within warranty. A bulb supposed to last the life of the car has blown landing you with a large bill within warranty period

Why not ask for it under warranty, if that doesn't work write a letter to Vauxhall HQ. and send an Email for hopefull publication in Telegraph to Honest John.0 -
1) The bulbs which are on sale at about £10 are not Xenon. They are normal bulbs. Xenons use a different technology and are extremely expensive (you are usually looking at a 4 figure sum to add them as an option on a new car).
2) Unlike some people here, I find that Xenons (I have them on one of my BMW M5s) are a really useful feature. Very bright, even lighting and good colour temperature.
3) Xenon bulbs work at very high voltages, so if you are changing the bulb yourself make sure that you take appropriate safety precautions.
4) Driving only in daylight is not an option, as the car is not deemed roadworthy (and would fail an MoT test) if all bulbs are not working (OK, I know that the suggestion was a joke!)

We had a letter published in the telegraph's HJ section about Nissan's botched up repair job on our rear windsheild and did it help us? No. :mad:spacey
