funny how certain posters have all scarpered at the same time. they cant all be on holiday at the same time surely. unless of course the same person uses a range of logons. not saying NDG is the same as !!!!!!, but !!!!!! and brit are practically the same person. wake up you idiots.

I agree. I didn't always agree with what they posted - brit1234 especially, as some of his stuff was often rather extreme - but you could always guarantee that a good discussion/debate would follow on and that is what is needed aound here.

And 'itsallagame' please do not turn this thread into another thread about NDG as I'm sick of hearing about it now. Go and discuss it elsewhere.

    Rob

I thought his thread was about missing posters!

Unfortunately attitudes do appear to be pushing guys away from the forum

I guess it's these sort of people, who contribute nothing to the board, is perhaps one of the reasons why some of the good contributors have gone.

    Tool.

This forum has, imho, died a death since it changed names and, to be honest, it stopped being so "cliquey". It's become a lot more like the Moneysavers Arms and far less of a must-read. Not bashing anyone who's newer to it or anything, just my own personal take on what's happened. I wonder if some of the users listed may feel the same.

    Shame really.

    Tool.

    Utterly agree.

I've seen it happen on plenty of other forums too.
The older members get sick of the n00b's and their know it all attitude.

On a few forums I frequent, this just results in invitation only hidden areas where the old guard hang out and discuss without the kids geting in the way.
Then the n00b's wonder where all the knowledge ran off to when no one is able to answer their questions with any level of intelligence.

Bring back all of the guys who have left. I don't entirely agree with them either but they contribute well.

On forums I'm more busy with there are people I'm venomously opposed to, but I wouldn't want to see they leave at all for what they contribute.
What point is a debate where everyone agrees?

Its interesting you post 'knowledge ran off'............

We all know how s hit it is out there, just some seem to revel in it on here, and mount their soapboxes to give sermon.

As for house prices we'll all benefit in the end.

Totally agree with this, I also liked it better when we were a sub-board. I have to say though that a lot of the 'newbies' seem to know a lot about what was going on in the old days. When you ask them how on earth they knew what we were saying 12 months ago when they only joined MSE last week they use the old stock phrase "Oh, I was a lurker and have only now decided to join in". Yeah right. Can any of us imagine lurking on the HPC sub-board and not being drawn into some of the brill ding-dong discussions? No, I don't think so either.

As far as the missing posters are concerned - apart from the 'newbie trolls', I think everyone (even my nemesis !!!!!!?) has a place in here and a contribution to make. The forums are a worse place if decent people are chased off by the 'newbies' (by 'newbies', I mean the troll ones who have single digit posts and simply post abuse. As seen already on this thread - not genuine new posters).

Every pound less borrowed (to buy a house) is more than two pounds less to repay and more than three pounds less to earn, over the course of a typical mortgage.

I really miss having the "tools" I have on some other forums. Namely, IP address lookup and email register.
Usually turns up interesting and obvious results when the flamers come out to play.

Hiya !!!!!!. We were just discussing that on another thread, actually.

I just hit the jackpot - DD has put me on ignore, meaning he can't be seen to respond to any of my posts.

    It's lovely. I recommend it.
