CCA In A Nutshell Please

So many references to it here. Can someone give me a quick summary or point me in the direction of one?

Many thanks

I read through a lot of that but, do you have to have defaulted? I mean, can I CCA my three CC's now even though I've never missed a payment?

I'm totally confused about the six year thing. I have also never signed any piece of paper in regards to an credit agreement for my credit cards-never signed any application either.

Yes, send of for your CCA, then post it up here for confirmation once you receive it (removing personal data)
Click here for Martins (MSE) advice on who to contact with Debt Issues - YOU HAVE NO REASON TO USE A FEE PAYING DEBT MANAGEMENT COMPANY- THEY CANNOT DO ANYMORE FOR YOU THAN THOSE LISTED IN MY LINK ABOVE.

Do one step at a time, send of for your CCA

Send the following letter for each CCA you require, enclosing a £1.00 postal order for each request, send by recorded delivery:

    Your Address

    Date
    DCA / Creditor
    Address

    Dear Sir/Madam

    Re:− Account/Reference Number: XXXXXXXXX

With reference to the above agreement, I would be grateful if you would send me a copy of this credit agreement.

Iunderstand that under the Consumer Credit Act 1974 (Sections 77−79), I'm entitled to receive a copy of our credit agreement on request.

I enclose a £1.00 postal order which represents the fee payable under the Consumer Credit Act.

I understand a copy of our credit agreement should be supplied within 12 working days.

I understand that under the Consumer Credit Act creditors are unable to enforce an agreement if they fail to comply with a request for a copy of the agreement under these sections of the Act.

I look forward to hearing from you.

    Yours faithfully

Thanks so much for your help with this. Where do we find the correct postal address? I've never actually posted anything to a CC before. I'm guessing it may be on a statement somewhere?
  • Hello
I'm just about to enter into a DMP with CCCS, for which my OH and I have 5 credit cards, is it worth sending off for a CCA before we commit to the DMP ,or am I on the wrong track.
    Thanks for your time
Finally brave enough to deal with my debts! :D
