Bankrupt today!!!!!!!!! All Done! My Day at court.

Hello all, well as of 10:25 this morning i am now officially bankrupt. To all those out there trembling with the thought of the court date and whole process stay calm cause there really is nothing to worry about.
I was up at 6am this morning eager to get it over with, so I decided to arrive earlier than my appointment of 10am.

I arrived in ***ding around 8am so had chance to go for a coffee at starbucks then over to the court for 9am. I was the first in there and was pleasantly surprised when they dealt with me straight away. After sorting through my forms and paying the fees, i was told they would put my file together and see me upstairs where i would see the county court judge. An hour or so passed then I went before the judge, who was extremely nice and non intimidating. She really did not ask much as she said after reading my Statement of Affairs it was quite clear why i was petitioning for bankruptcy. She encouraged me a great deal and told me everything will be fine and all debt will be included in my bankruptcy, she also pointed out that i should not listen to any nonsence from creditors in particular my mortgage and secured loan company! WAS I HAPPY!!!

Over to the OR office was the next step which was a minute walk from the county court. I was dealt with very professionally where the next step was expained fully. I will be contacted in 1-2 weeks to arrange my OR interview.
Until then i should relax and sort out bank accounts etc however the OR office did say the will now be writing to all creditors and will also let Lloyds TSB they have no interest in my basic account.
Straight to the co-op branch 2 minutes away and i have opened a cashminder account just in case which should be active in 2-3 days. Fantastic.
So by 12noon all was done and i now have the rest of the day off, and i deserve it!!!!!!
I really am lucky that the court, OR office and Co-op bank were so close its made my day really straight forward and with a bit of planning things have really paid off.
Whoo hoo!!!:j
