Brown 'very angry' about bonuses

What are you doing quoting Clarkson, that was both discrimanatory and borderline racist when he said it!
It was funny and a nice spot of free publicity. Trying to pull the racism card on this is laughable, he wasn't slagging him for being Scottish any more than he was slagging him for being partially sighted - the comment was all about GB being an idiot, end of. Quit being such a PC nancyboy

It is interesting to see how eager you are to take pleasure in other peoples misfortune.
Maybe if Gordon Brown were to contract cancer then you would come on the forums and take pleasure in that fact too?
Have you been in a coma for the past week?
Brown is a complete and utter disaster and for this useless fool to rant about banker's bonuses is hypocrisy at its most nauseating. Unless you happen to believe that the man who thinks he saved the world actually did so.0 -
To cut through all the nonsense from this week, I think Clarkson's comments about Brown were wrong and a bit too far - I mean, critisise the guy on his record and what he's (not) done for the country but levelling that kind of shallow abuse at him is just unnecessarily nasty.
But with regards his 'anger' about the bonuses - I say again, why wasn't he this angry about the Northern Rock bonuses, which seems to apparently be entirely different and that his spokesman said last month is a matter for Northern Rock?0 -

Agreed! There's this tension, though, between racism, sexism and all the other isms at one end and freedom of speech at the other. Most of us seem to operate like a pendulum, swinging to and fro and pitching our indignation or our approval according to our own personal inclinations.
Freedom of speech can be removed, but freedom of thought can't be controlled.0 -
Oh come on. Clarksons comment was a bit too far (in terms of the one-eyed comment) but to state that its racist is frankly ignorant.
If I as an englishman called someone an "english to**er" would that mean I was being rascist to my own people.
Likewise, several hiphop artists regularly use a certain n word which is not looked down on, unless its said by a whiteman. How can something one person of a certain skin or nationality say be rascist whereas someone from another race or skin colour can say it and not be rascist. Pure hypocrisy. Either somethings rascist or its not.
Back to the issue, without knowing specifically which people are getting bonuses you can't really comment. Your basically saying that everyones the same. What if several of their staff lost massive sums and got no bonus and others have made pretty good returns (ie. doing their jobs well) and have therefore received their bonus based on THEIR performance. Bonuses should be just that, based on your own performance and not necessarily on the performance of the company as a whole.0 -
Gordan doesnt care, the article is just a PR exercise to get the sheeples vote.0

So what is Clown going to do about his 'anger' then?
Maybe give all the banks another couple of billion to show just how angry he really is, perhaps?
