Three Number Transfer Blunder! Please Help!

I have just found out that the clowns at three customer service have transferred my PAYG number to someone else's contract when I requested for it to be transferred to my contract, which I had just opended. That means that someone out there is recieving my calls from friends, family, collegues, banks etc and I am very furious! Any help to what I can do about this? Happened to anyone else before? I called them to explain and they said they will resolve the issue but I dont feel confident that they are doing much!

  • You've got to go straight to the head office! I'm sure someone here will give your their phone number and possibly address.

You could call them AND tell them and then ask for someone from the UK to call you back from the head office thats your best bet.

I steer clear from 3, thats my motto, I have had many contracts with them in the past and ONLY use them on a simple "use minutes and cancel at the end" kind of deal with no upgrades etc. and I try not to use customer services.

Their prices can be very cheap and combined with quidco, selling phone and RAF you can end up with a totally free deal.

SO... now England its the Scots turn to say dont leave the UK, stay in Europe with us in the UK, dont let the tories fool you like they did us with empty lies... You will be leaving the UK aswell as Europe ;)
  • Cheers for the replies guys...

I've got a ref from OFCOM and tried to call their exec office, but they wont even talk to me without a case number...i've emailed them twice (executive.office@three.co.uk) but with no reply. Really getting frustrated with this joke of a company.

I also wanted to ask if a possible breach of data protection has occured? As their error has caused my personal calls/information to be answered from an unknown 3rd party.
  • Hmm same here.....due a port from three to asda on friday my OH went over ok at 9am...mine seems to have "gone astray" according to three's wonderful customer support line.....just tried ringing my number & a very confused guy's answered so pretty obvious someone else has my number

i'd be interested DG seeing how things progress

I've just spoken to their executive office who just said the enquiry's been recieved and they will get back within 10 working days!

I had a chance to speak to consumer direct and they said I should be able to hold them liable for the loss I have incurred due to this error by them! I am still waiting to hear if my data security has been jepoardised. Im gonna make them pay big time for this!!!
