The word "dilemma" comes from Greek where "di" means two and "lemma" means premise. Refers usually to difficult choice between two undesirable options.
Often people seem to use this word mistakenly where "quandary" would fit better.

I have never seen such a ludicrous post! So yr a FTB, about to take possibly the largest finanial commitment you will ever take & you want other people to do the research! Hire a PA!!
It may have been better if you had done some research & then asked for an opinion!0 -
Best if you get a mortgage broker or look yourself for a deal which suits you best.
You'll only get told a snapshot of the mortgages on offer if you ask people on here, they cant/wont search the whole mortgage market for you.Squish0 -
Where you have seen me asking people searching for me?
Dont you think there are many people who have done the research for their own purposes already? Or you don't think?:DThe word "dilemma" comes from Greek where "di" means two and "lemma" means premise. Refers usually to difficult choice between two undesirable options.

What's wrong with you looking, if you're prepared at this stage to put it in the hands of others, then yr clearly a person who does not consider finances to be yr priority but want others to do the ground work!!!!! Wake up and smell the coffee!0 -

One problem you will have is that deals are changing all the time at the moment, so anyone who researched last week is allready out of date.
The other thing is that 10%-20% is a very wide range for a deposit and will make a big difference to the deals you can get, narrow it down a bit.0 -

well, i would try to put 20% if after comparing the rates for 10% and 20% I will see it is worthwhile. The word "dilemma" comes from Greek where "di" means two and "lemma" means premise. Refers usually to difficult choice between two undesirable options.

Quite a good point but I agree with the fiesty one that immersing yourself in a study of all aspects of buying a house ( e.g. Which Magazine "How to buy a House" etc etc ) and getting to know what is available is a good idea.
You would know quite a lot after about 20 hours of effort.
I wish you well................................I have put my clock back....... Kcolc ym0
