Removing SIMcard from the RAZR V3
I know this is going to sound a naff question but how do you remove the SIM card from a Motorola RAZR V3?
I've been trying to see if it works in another phone but can't remove it to do so! The normal simple system of the slider back and forth doesn't seem to have been used with this model. Also bothered about causing it any damage.

just remove back battery cover and battery then put finger on sim (below silver bar) and slide sim up - there is nothing holding it, it just slides under the silver bar0

It is a design fault, I found it impossible, just keep using your thumb to rub it out gradually if you understand!0

There a bit of a b*tch to remove, try using a sharp knife0

Lol!
I spent a long time trying to work this out when I bought mine - even the manual didnt help.
Seriously poor design by such a large company,
The way to remove it is, as said above. Push it away with your thumb - it may get caught in the metal bit so be careful!Bismillah0 -
I am very grateful to all of you who helped!
blah's suggestion worked, though I was and continued to be apprehensive about using a sharp instrument (shorting and all that jazz). I used the rounded end of a pair of scissors and it was easy.
Maybe I have shiny, polished thumbs but I couldn't budge it the other way!
As has been suggested a bit of a design fault.
Happy bunny now - thanks!0 -
A (sort of) related question re the V3 (or L7), but can Motorola phones be unlocked very easily for use on a different network - I've only ever had to unlock nokia's before using an online site which was fine, but this has no info for Motorola.
ThanksI do hope you're telling the truth?0 -
Syb - you are better off starting a new thread with this. With my heading (unrelated topic) you are never going to get anybody to pick it up - IMHO!0

V3`s L6\L7 can be easily unlocked with necersary hardware (unlockshop or market stall)
They can also be unlocked by IMEI over the internet (avarage price of £10)
You can then unlock the handset by entering the unlock code, you wont find Motorola IMEI unlock codes for free.
Hope this helps0 -
Thanks for this, I've never quite understood why some brands can be unlocked and some can't.
On the removing the sim issue, I've just tried mine which comes out fine, it does rely on exerting some 'push down and slide' pressure on the sim card though.I do hope you're telling the truth?0 -

V3 unlocked easy, yes. L6,L7 not easy at all without a dremmel to drill a hole in the metal shield, so will cost you alot more than £10 unless its on vodafone for which you can get codes for.
motorola unlocking by imei is down at present.
