Be very carefull if you are driving on your fathers policy and you are the main driver and / or drive to and from work / college. This is called "Fronting" which is covered numerous times on this forum.0

What car have you got?0

any links to this fronting malarkey?
Its not viable for me to pay 3k a year its daylight robbery.
Im driving a 1.7 diesel astra estate at the minute. I know i could have a smaller car but it really doesn't make much difference and its not practical for me0 -

1. It does make a difference, otherwise you wouldn't be here complaining about the cost.
2. How is it not practical? Unless you have a family to travel around then a ford fiesta 1.1 is fine. My FF 1.1 (J reg, 1991) gets me 240 miles every 2 weeks or so when I come back from uni. Lasted 4 years so far.0 -

Its not daylight robbery, it the going rate for young drivers.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
OK then, its not practical because i do 500 miles + in one go on a weekly basis. Loaded with 3-4 people and our gear. Not that, that is any of your business. A fiesta would not be practical. It makes about 80 quid difference to my old 1.2 corsa. Id rather pay and extra 2 quid a week and be conformatable!
If it was in any other area, other that insurance, as its a negative effect, on another group of people such as pensioners, ethnics, etc, it would be classed as prejudice. FACT. What is the argument, young drivers are more likely to crash? And im sure stats show one ethnic group crash more than others, its bound to. But would they dare use this to increase the cost of insurance? No way! Its predice plain and simple!
Cases should be judged individually. If your a new driver, at 17 or 47, premiums should be the same!0 -
Bright isn't your real surname, is it?0
