hi,
ill send you attachments of my ppi refund awarded, but the bas....s are keeping the lot, can i fight this. Seems very harsh as im awarded the money and dont even get a penny.....
HELP, very urgent0 -
As above ref re ppi payments sent, received letter from yourselves on 12 Dec 2011 showing Partial refund of ppi already applied of
£1194.09 - and then a letter on 13 Jan 2012 showing £6,007.26 has been paid to my nominated bank account.
My Solicitor and i have received no redress on the above payments or how the money has been distributed. We are aware that any arrears on the account are deducted from the ppi less the 8% interest, but as first payment of £1194.09 was sent to (ME) WBR back in DEC 2011 the above should not be the case. Also my nominated account as of your letter 13th Jan has no payment received from yourselves as stated.
Having been spun many a yarn from your company - being told a cheque payment is on the way to me etc etc this mail will be my last approach to you.
If i do not receive my payment within the next 48hr - we have lined up National Press involvement & we shall be issuing a report to the FOS and the BCOBS, we hope this will not be needed but now have no choice, cannot go on & on like this.. alot of the banking conditions have been broken.
Hope your dept can be more professional & can finally put the above to rest.....

I have been passed your email from my colleague Diane Sims.
I can confirm that on 18/1/11 we have received four amounts of £3610.10, £1281.94, £142.75 and £972.47. As the refunds are in respect of four loans taken out in the name of SupaSpecs Ltd and not repaid each refinanced to a new loan, we are entitled to keep the funds to offset against the business loan debt still outstanding.
£142.75 was in respect of loan a/c no 03596715 was refinanced to another loan in Mch 05
£972.47 was in respect of loan a/c no 03539045 was refinanced to another loan in Mch 05
£1281.94 was in respect of loan a/c no 03650302 was refinanced to another loan in Mch 07
£3610.10 was in respect of loan a/c no 00028309 which is the loan outstanding with this dept.
If you would like to contact me on 0117923 3785 I will be only too pleased to discuss this with you

Dear Del Gale,
I shall run your response via my legal dept, I'm sure firstly you are unable to keep the 8% interest this should be credited to my account without delay today. Also have not received any correspondence from you in regards to my current loan position with yourselves, Also you seem to have missed out the partial refund applied of
£601.71 -no 9045/ £56.37 - no 6715 / £401.09 no 0302. total £1059.17 back in dec 2011..
I'm very annoyed with your response and i will take this much further, i was mis sold the above amounts and you are now taking MY mistreating of being illegally mis sold PPI to reduce the set out loan ...
I'm currently in financial hardship and feel for you to just take again all the refund is very unfair i shall appoint my solicitor to now act.

Hi jason, sorry to hear this, they can set redress towards arrears, are you still paying the business loan and have they taken the whole ppi off the balance of this?.
If i were you i would give FOS a ring and ask about the 8%.i am sure they should give this to you,put a complaint in about the way the redress has not been sorted properly and how you have no calculations or reworking of the loan without ppi, tell FOS how you think they have not kept you updated on the claim with calculations etc.
Going out now,but will be on this afternoon, give FOS a ring and let me know how you get on.0 -
So glad to find some useful advice here folks. Thanks.0

For anyone with a couple of days to spare, I just came across the 'Parliamentary Commission on Banking Standards' report from January. A mere 197 pages but some good stuff in there;

I had a phone call off a so called PPI claims company(an Indian voice) who said I had a loan off Barclays Bank years ago and they unknow to me had charged insurance on it, it was paid fully & i do vaugely remember making payment to Barclays for something. The phone cut off and that was it! Is this kosher and if it is how do I find out about this loan I had, although really can't remember?0

2 possibilities
1) someone has your details fraudulently e.g. a rogue member of staff stealing records
2) they're taking a guess based on size of financial institution, good odds you'll have had something with one of the big banks, probably hoping you might say no, it was Lloyd's (say) and they will then start their sales pitch hoping you ignore the fact they made the mistake
If you had a loan with PPI and believe it was mis-sold then claim yourself for free - ask Barclays first of all and see if they have any records (you might need to send a SAR plus £10 payment to dig out their old records) if you have none of your own and then see what valid complaint reasons you might be able to present (claiming to not know about it is hearsay and won't win a refund of any insurance as it'll have been detailed on your loan statement - concentrate on stronger details)Sam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:
People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.
