Hi guys,

I have a 02 reg Ford Focus and am looking to get some 30mm Eibach lowering springs fitted, now that I have joined a mod friendly insurance company!

I was just wondering if anyone here has had it done and how much you were charged? Does anyone know how long fitting takes approximately?

I presume that I will need to get all the wheels alligned after the springs have been fitted. Is this correct?

Thanks in advance.:money:

Shouldnt need alligning with just a 30mm drop, where are you based?

I reckon fitting should take around 2 hours

I'd be interested to know the insurance company. Don't know where you are sourcing them, but Ford does them through www.fordpartsuk.com . I've been looking at them for a Mondeo, but we do have a lot of nasty speed humps in my area, so I'm not too sure, really. It would be interesting to know how you get on, with fitting, etc.

Adrian Flux. I will be getting mine from ESP Design or £112 off someone I know @ FFOC. I have a feeling that the 4 wheel alignment will have to be done after fitting and my local ford indie doesn't have the equipment for this. I'd rather get everything done at the same time.

If you have a look at www.alignmycar.co.uk you can find info for your area for 4 wheel alignment specialists.

Just booked my car into my local Indie. He has quoted me £200 for fitting of springs, standard tracking and 1 year interim service as that needs doing as well.

He said he will have a word with the local dealer as he may be able to get the 4 wheel alignment done on the same day at the ford main dealer for an extra cost.

However I am not sure if i should wait for the springs to bed in and then get the 4 wheel alignment done? Any ideas? Thanks

Wouldn't have thought that quality springs would need bedding in, but that's not a qualified opinion really, just my own thoughts. They should be quality controlled to the point where you can trust the consistency, otherwise you could end up with a list!

    Yeah true,

I have decided to get everything sorted on the same day. My indie will fit the springs and take it straight to the dealer and they will do the alignment and make any camber adjustments. Might cost be an extra £30 but it will need doing anyway.

I was tempted to go down to 40mm as I have 16" Zetec alloys but i think that the ride will be too harsh. I think 30mm is about right.
