Seven Trent Water - solo user tariff?

Hiya

dos anyone know if ST have a tariff for households where only one person lives there?

Unfortunately, my dad passed away on Boxing day 05 and I am trying to get things sorted for mum.

I have managed to cut down Gas and electric and also home insurance but am keen to reduce things for her as much as possible.

She is nearly 54 and lives in a semi detached house

Thanks in advance for any help received

Does your Mum have a water meter?
It would save alot of money as you will only pay for the water she used.

No solo user accounts I'm afraid, water meter is the answer as Rikki says.
Also it may be worth checking if rain water runoff goes into the sewer or to soakaways if its the later you don't need to pay for it.

If she has not got one Severn Trent claim they will fit one free!!

As said above a single person will nearly always save money by being on a meter.

You can look at the tariff on the ST website - the charges vary according to the district in the ST area(there is a map)

You will have to estimate the water used and thus sewage charges. The average is 160 litres a day. so if you work on, say 60 cubic metres pa you should not be far out - unless she waters the garden a lot!! Depending on area it should be in the region of £120 pa on that use(assuming surface water to a soakaway)

I believe that you can return to unmetered tariff within a year if you find it is not financially advantageous.
