Regardless of the T&Cs, have you phoned them to ask if you can swap it? It all depends on the company, but some organisations would be happy to sort something out in this situation. And even if you have to compromise and pay the return carriage costs (for example), at least you get what you want in the end.
It's not guaranteed to work, but I often find that a friendly phone call opens doors. And if it doesn't, you've only lost a few pence in trying.
