  • I used this outfit last year. Delivered by courier next day, then got all four fitted/balanced for £7 per corner locally.

They seem to be a German company and the price can vary from depending upon Euro excnage rate.

  • Try https://www.etyres.co.uk They will quote you on the WEB and fit your tyres anywhere. I found them to be competative if you are looking for new tyres rather than remoulds.

I would never use remoulds. As somebody said tyres are one thing not to skimp on!

There are places to money save, and places not to. This is a prime example of that.

You don't have to get premium brands, but a middle range tyre should be adequate. The way to save money as said above is by buying them online and getting them fitted locally, or take the online quote to your local friendly tyre fitters and some will match the price.

I recommend Eagle F1s if you want a decent tyre.

I used etyres to generate a price and then rang around a few of the local tyre dealers to see if they would match/beat it.
KwikFit, ATS and the like are only cheaper if they have a 'special offer' on - e.g. KwikKrap were doing 4 for the price of 3 recently. I usually end up back at the same, independent small guy every time.

Remoulds tend to have a softer compound than most normal tyres so you'll not get as much mileage out of them - otherwise they are just as good. Part worns are, as already pointed out, dodgy if you don't know where they came from.

If you want a complete set of four then it may be worth a haggle on the phone

My new set of Goodyears have just been delivered today. Exactly the day my email confirmation said they would. I only need to arrange fitting now which is not a worry considering the saving I have made. national Tyres £99 each fitted. mytyres £52 plus a fiver per tyre fitting with a local affiliate of theirs.

I used to sell tyres to the trade and you might be surprised how one place will vary greatly on the same thing from the next. It all depends whether they have a preferred brand or not. We were spending 20 grand with one manufacturer at a time so were getting huge discounts and were able to pass that on. You would be shocked at some of the other prices for consumables eg exhausts - At the time it was around £120 for a new Nissan Bluebird Exhaust, price bought in at....... £3.50.

I would really spend as much as you can on tyres especially if you intend to keep the car a while. My last set have done over 30 thousand miles and still have about 5mm tread on them. I'm only changing the tyres because I've just changed my car. There are also safety implications. I have driven two six month old cars, same model, same spec. One was running goodyears (NCT3s) and the other michelins (MXTs) I crashed the latter one in a skid I should have been able to stop before it reached 50 feet and the deer!
  • National - tyres bogof

It could be quite cheap. I agree about shopping around though - local independents are often cheaper. My last car was a punto and it was over £40 a tyre from kwik-fit, but £26 a tyre from my local garage.
  • cheapest place i found was costco (https://www.costco.co.uk)
prices range from £20-£100+ price includes .. fitting..rotation..etc
