Another pet hate of mine (and I scold myself each time I do it!). When someone pushes past or bumps into me, I for some reason, automatically say sorry and smile. Then the brutes just scowl and stomp off. I haven't even been to blame in the 1st place! Everytime it happens, I think, well I'll not bloody do that again - and then I do!!! Must be how I was brought up. Some people are just plain rude!

A crowd of us mums and grans were standing in the shopping centre watching our little ones sing with the school. Along comes this old dear with her "excuse me, excuse me" pushed us all out of her way and stood in front of us. Too boot she was about 5'8" with a blooming hat on :o

I think it's really funny when the plane has just landed...literally about a minute afterwards.. and people start jumping up , trying to grab their bags & queueing in the aisle, then start huffing & tutting because the doors aren't open. ::)

Then the ones in the window seats start trying to get out into the aisle (which is already choc full) and they can't, so they adopt that hilarious 'standing with head- crooked- knees- bent- half- bent- over posture' because the lockers are above their heads. :D

Where do they think they are going? The 'fasten seatbelt' sign isn't even off, so they're not even supposed to be standing up; they're hardly likely to be opening the doors!

It tickles me every time. Except when I've got one of the window seaters next to me & I can feel them willing me to move, their very muscles practically twitching!
  • Occasionally the boarding numbers are enforced. It happened to me once coming from Faro to Luton. We arrived late so e had a high number boarding card. We never care very much so we just found a seat in the lounge to wait it out.

Anyway they called 1-30 and a bunch went forward. There was some guy that must have had a higher number, so the attendant sent him away. The guy was just about to kick up a fuss when the attendant looked over her shoulder and out walked this security guard. We're talking full combat fatigues, carrying a semi-automatic and a truncheon. The passenger shut up and sat down :)

    We laughed :)
  • Some queues are avoidble. I was in Boots and H&M the other day. The nearest checkouts had big queues of about 20 people.

I thought there is no point waiting with the masses, went other to the photo counter in Boots and paid there. They didnt have a queue at all!

In H&M i went upstairs to pay, again no queue, so saved some time there too.

I know the sort you mean, I have no idea what they are thinking of except giving themselves neckache and knee ache!! lol!

If they saw how funny they looked, maybe they wouldn't do it.

  • Hello!

I have got to push in here (how appropriate)... I am one of those window/middle seat people who stands up when the aisle is full. I don't do it while the seatbelt sign is on, but I have a really bad back and even after a short flight, it is bliss to stand up... even if i only make it to the peculiar knees-bent, crouched under the locker position. The reason I don't stand up while the seat belt sign is on is that a relative in the airline business said that, if there is a long trip from landing to the 'parking space', the stewards can tell the pilots that those idiots are standing up, and the pilots can slam the brakes on to give everyone a shock and make them sit down again! Nice to know that the professionals get as frustrated as the rest of us! ;)

As for general rudeness... I often seem to wear the invisibility cloak that Harry Potter has. I was brought up to stay out of the way of grown-ups, but now kids seem to rule the pavements. I got sick of walking in the road and have become the rude barging person as a result!

Happy Xmas to everyone on these boards, this website and all who use it gain my eternal gratitude... I have picked up so many tips!
